Battlefield 2142 is back after two years of being shut down.
The game’s revival is thanks to a fan-made project which has made the 10-year old futuristic shooter free to download and play on PC.
After the game’s multiplayer Gamespy service shut down years ago, the game was officially dead and no longer supported by EA.
EA has not shut down the fan project, and has not stated any intention to inhibit the work of classic Battlefield fans.
Battlefield 2142 Revive launched on the weekend, and had a concurrent player count of just under 400.
