Electronic Arts CFO Blake Jorgensen says EA is interested in creating open-world action games like Assassin’s Creed or Grand Theft Auto, reports GameRant.
Speaking at a USB conference, Jorgensen shared some details on what type of games the company is hoping to create.
“The largest genre in gaming is the action genre; that would be an Assassin’s Creed-style game; Grand Theft Auto,” said Jorgensen.
“They are more open world, they are more exploratory. They’re big experiences.”
The EA CFO also mentioned that the company has done well in its traditional genres, but there is no reason it can’t expand to the open-world action genre.
“We have rarely played in that genre because we’ve been so deep in sports, where we are dominant and first-person shooters, as well as in simulation games like The Sims,” said Jorgensen.
“But there’s no reason we can’t do well in [the action genre], we just haven’t paid attention to it.”
We won’t see an open-world action game from EA for a few years at least, but the company’s new Motive Studio in Montreal is already working on the title.
lol another true crime in the making
