The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has been one of the most highly-acclaimed titles ever made, and ranks as the best PC game of all time according to metacritic’s user score rankings.

The open-world role-playing game has received two stellar expansion packs and heaps of free DLC.

I’ve been spending the majority of my free time playing through its main story at a relatively patient pace, frequently straying off the beaten path to disover everything the game has to offer.

Engaging with all the game’s content is a daunting challenge, as there are hundreds of well-crafted side-quests, contracts, and locations to visit.

Despite the vast amount of content available in The Witcher 3, every quest and mission is different, offering new surprises and encouraging players to discover its vast landscape.

Most Witcher 3 fans have probably already completed the Blood and Wine and Hearts of Stone add-ons, which contain enough content to be standalone games, but I’ve been content so far to discover the fantastic depth and detailed stories the game has to offer without rushing through the story to check out the highly-acclaimed expansions.

CD Projekt RED has cultivated a reputation for the use of well-written characters and backstory in its Witcher games, making The Witcher 3 a completely unique title which breaks the mold set by triple-A role-playing games and sets a new benchmark for game design.

While I will undoubtedly continue playing a lot of The Witcher 3 this holiday season, I will also be keeping my eye on CD Projekt RED’s Cyberpunk 2077 project, which looks to be the Polish developer’s next big hit.
