The Twitch streamer Nicholas “Nickmercs” Kolcheff conveyed his disappointment in the current state of Halo Infinite, which feels abandoned and lacks engaging content.
Halo Infinite was released in November 2021 and had gathered a huge following of excited fans during its development stages.
However, following an initially great reception of both the single-player and multiplayer components, Halo Infinite has experienced a huge drop in players in recent months and it seems to have been forgotten by most gamers.
The streamer and co-owner of FaZe, Nickolas Kolcheff, expressed on Twitter that the game is a “flop,” which is a shame as it had massive “untapped potential.”
Nickmercs attributed this lack of success to poor content offerings and the fact that the game should have come with a battle royale mode.
The steamer went on to say that a battle royale mode would have been nothing but a “net+,” and the game needs to “adapt or die.”
If we look at Halo Infinite’s Steam Charts, the steamer’s comments are not far from the truth as the game has been losing players at an alarming rate.
The chart shows that during the month of its release in November 2021, the average player base surpassed 100,000 – reaching 200,000 players at its peak.
Since then, the average player base has dropped by almost 50% after each subsequent month, as the chart shows that in the past 30 days the game has an average player base of only 7,000.
If the player base continues to decline, then steamer Nickmercs concerns could be fully realized as Halo Infinite’s player base continues to die off.
