Ghost Recon Breakpoint updates have come to an end

7 April 2022

Ubisoft announced via Twitter that Ghost Recon Breakpoint updates are ending, effectively putting an end to the FPS and its post-launch content.

“The last four months marked the release of our final piece of content: the brand-new Operation Motherland mode, tons of new items including 20th-anniversary iconic outfits and Quartz items for Ghost Recon Breakpoint,” Ubisoft said.

“We will continue to maintain our servers for both Ghost Recon Wildlands and Ghost Recon Breakpoint and we truly hope you will continue to enjoy the game and have fun playing in solo or co-op with your friends.”

This includes the conclusion of its recent “Quartz ” program which incorporated Ubisoft’s premiere NFTs (non-fungible tokens) called “digits” into the game at the end of last year.

The Quartz program was established as a “play-to-earn” concept that involved developers giving cryptocurrency to those who play the game.

However, as these NFTs are made solely for a now-dead game, it remains to be seen if they will retain their value or if anyone will even purchase them.

It seems Ubisoft has left it up to the market to decide as they have no current plans to incorporate NFTs from Ghost Recon Breakpoint into their other games.

The game’s servers will still be maintained and Ghost Recon Breakpoint is still available to play on PC (via the Epic Games Store), PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
