Off The Grid is Gunzilla Games’ all-new battle royale and is set to release in 2023 on PS5, Xbox Series S/X, and PC.
The teaser trailer reveals that Neill Blomkamp, the South African film director behind the sci-fi films District 9 and Elysium, will lead the shooter’s narrative design.
Gunzilla Games has also recruited Altered Carbon author Richard K. Morgan as a scriptwriter, and his work on Crysis 2 will prove invaluable to Off The Grid’s development.
Off The Grid takes place on a dystopian tropical island, and the teaser trailer indicates that cybernetic augmentations will form a part of the core gameplay experience.
The gameplay will primarily involve 150-player PvP battles, but you will also be able to complete PvE storyline missions “using the same map inhabited by other players in real-time”.
Off The Grid will feature another unique gameplay mechanic — an individual player’s story choices will also influence every other player’s experience.
