Dead Space to release in January 2023

13 May 2022

In a livestream held yesterday, the Dead Space remake development team confirmed that the game will release on 27 January 2023.

EA Motive, the remake’s development team, has been regularly hosting livestreams since the project was first announced in July 2021.

March’s livestream covered the remake’s rebuilt sound design in detail, including a new feature that changes Isaac’s dialogue depending on his fatigue levels.

Yesterday’s livestream covered the game’s redesigned art, focusing on visual improvements to character models and environments.

Improved visual and environmental effects include volumetric fog that, when combined with realistic lighting, is a surefire way to exponentially amp up the USG Ishimura’s creepiness factor.

These livestreams have provided an excellent opportunity for the development team to get active feedback from the Dead Space community and revise unsatisfactory features before launch.

For example, community feedback during the March livestream led developers to modify the Plasma Cutter and Pulse Rifle’s audio design.

EA Motive told fans that two weeks before yesterday’s livestream, developers were able to do an entire playthrough of the game in its current alpha state.

The developers teased that the upcoming gameplay showcase would only take place in late October, just in time for Halloween.
