Although Elden Ring has online multiplayer, many in the community have felt the systems offered to be lacking, and a modder has taken it upon themselves to address these concerns.
The modder in question, LukeYui, is already well-known for their impressive Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice multiplayer mod.
The modder has once again set out to improve upon what FromSoftware created and their seamless coop mod, if successful, looks to provide the sort of cooperative play Souls fans have been dreaming of for years.
The mod is planned to add several features:
- Maximum player cap of 4 (1 host and 3 summons)
- No invasions (PvP with summons is an option)
- Shared items – if a boss drops a unique item, each player will get a version of it.
- Shared Sites of Grace
- Shared Progress
- Player spectating after death during boss fights
- Seamless world travel (all players can mount up on Torrent)
- Coop fast travel
Additionally, the mod creator assured fans that this mod will not get you banned as it uses a separate launcher and does not use Easy Anti-Cheat.
The mod will release on 27 May on NexusMods, and if you’re interested, you can watch the mod’s Alpha testers playing on Twitch here for 4 players and here for 2 players.
