The top 10 revenue games for Steam from last week

SteamDB has released stats for the past week which highlight that several games have entered the top 10 highest-grossing titles over the past week.

While the number one entry is still expected, the most notable absence is that of the Valve Index VR Kit, which thus far has been a regular sight in the top ten.

There are also several new titles present which are unsurprising, as new games almost always sell the best just after their release.

Below are the top ten games based on revenue for Steam for the week ending on 19 June 2022.

10. Starship Troopers: Terran Command

Starship Troopers: Terran Command was released on 16 June and is an RTS game.

Based on the Starship Troopers universe, most well-known for its films and animations, it shows a dark future for a united humanity in a constant battle with an alien threat known as the Bugs.

Strategy games are popular to begin with and when you add in the bombastic appeal of Starship Troopers’ action, it’s not shocking to see it make it onto this list.

Starship Troopers: Terran Command holds a Very Positive user review score on Steam.

9. The Quarry

The Quarry retains its presence in the top ten, only dropping one position from last week.

Thus far, the game from the developers of Until Dawn has received a mostly positive response from players.

Like Until Dawn, the player will make choices for a group of teens stranded in a dangerous situation, where the wrong choice can lead to death.

The Quarry has a Mostly Positive user review score on Steam.

8. V Rising

Contrary to our prediction of V Rising remaining in the top five, the game has dropped to eighth on this list.

The Vampire survival game has seen widespread success, but the hype surrounding it may be dying down.

It will be interesting to see whether or not its even in the top ten next week or if it will once again increase its position.

V Rising has a Very Positive user review score on Steam.

7. Elden Ring

Elden Ring has dropped to an all time low but it still rests at a respectable seventh spot on this list.

Elden Ring has had an almost unprecedent run of success on Steam, consistently ranking in the top five of the charts for several months since its release in February.

This may mark the end of its dominance and it may drop out of the top ten entirely if the hype has finally died down – at least until its first DLC is announced.

Elden Ring has a Very Positive user review score on Steam.

6. Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak

Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak is the much anticipated G-Rank expansion for the game and is set to release on 29 June.

No doubt its release next week and the slue of new content that Capcom has revealed to be included with the expansion has encouraged many fans to pre-purchase it.

Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak has not yet released.

5. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is a beloved series that has become a favourite for many, and a new game based on this popular IP released on 16 June.

Whether its nostalgia or simply good game, it’s not surprising to see it in the top ten.

However, it is doubtful it will remain in the top ten come next week.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge holds a Very Positive user review score.

4. Monster Hunter Rise

Given its expansion is on this list, it’s no surprise the full game is as well. This has been helped even more since the game has been on sale over the past week.

It’s also possible that Rise and Sunbreak both made the top ten because of the demo each offers and those with a positive experience pre-purchasing one or both.

Additionally, the recent reveals for Sunbreak will have no doubt increased the hype surrounding the title for veterans of the series who may have been fence sitting.

Given Sunbreak releases next week its quite likely both will retain their presence in the top ten.

3. Chivalry 2

Chivalry 2 is a first-person slasher game inspired by medieval war and allows players to test their skills in fast-paced, challenging multiplayer combat.

The first game was very popular and it seems its sequel is following in its tracks.

Chivalry 2 is also on sale on Steam until 7 July.

It has a Very Positive user review score on Steam.

2. Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade

The next part of the extensive and visually stunning remake of Final Fantasy VII – called Intergrade – released on 17 June.

The Final Fantasy VII Remake has been very popular thanks to its visuals and reimagining of what, for many, was the best Final Fantasy game.

Intergrade is also on sale till 23 June which likely helped it reach the number two spot.

1. Steam Deck

The Steam Deck, as expected, holds the number one spot in the top ten.

The portable gaming PC from Valve is obviously popular and selling well.

The Steam Deck is currently unavailable in South Africa.
