Vermintide 2 PvP open Alpha – now available

Vermintide 2’s Versus mode was announced in 2019 by Fatshark and after four years of waiting, players can finally experience this new mode.

Players can now play the Versus mode in an open Alpha that Fatshark has made accessible to everyone who owns Vermintide 2.

This open Alpha period will end on 18 March and is currently using the Righteous Stand map.

Up to four players can participate on each side, alternately playing as Heroes and Pactsworn across several rounds with a scoreboard at the end of the match to reveal which team has the most points.

This open Alpha comes after a closed Alpha test, which was met with great success – hosting over 3,600 players and providing valuable feedback.

Thanks to this, the closed Alpha included a total of 6,056 rounds across 2,093 games, with the bulk of these games ending with a clear victor.

In terms of character picks, for Heroes the top careers were Mercenary, Battle Wizard, Ranger Veteran, Waystalker, and Witch Hunter Captain, with a preference for handguns and the longbow.

For the Pactsworn, the picks were more evenly spread out, which is understandable since these characters are all new to players, though there was a trend towards the Globadier.

Players that aren’t interested in PVP can instead enjoy the sixth year anniversary event Fatshark is running for the game at the same time.

This event provides double XP and the re-enabling of the pub crawl map called A Quiet Drink, which can be found under the Weekly Event tab in matchmaking.

Completing this map during the event will also earn players a new anniversary portrait frame.
