From Dust PC launch delayed

26 July 2011

Those of you looking to play god on PC will have to spend the next couple of weeks prepping your furious vengeance, as Ubisoft has confirmed that the PC launch of From Dust has been delayed until 17 August. That’s also my birthday, so I’m sure it’s some sort of sign. Of course, I’m already playing it on Xbox courtesy of a pre-release review code, so maybe not.

But mysterious ways, and whatever.

For other mortals with grand delusions of divinity, the Xbox LIVE Arcade launch is still on schedule for Wednesday as part of the Summer of Arcade promo, while a PSN launch is treading the murky waters of “mid-2011”.

The game, designed by Eric Chahi (Future Wars, Another World, Heart of Darkness, others), has been described as a “spiritual heir” to Populous, although it plays more like Lemmings on LSD. You also get to build stuff with lava, so that’s awesome.

Look out for a review later this week.
