7 minute HD video of PC exclusive Hard-Reset

16 August 2011

Last month Polish developer Flying Wild Hog revealed that it is hard at work on a PC exclusive first-person-shooter called Hard-Reset. Flying Wild Hog is comprised of individuals previously belonging to People Can Fly and CD Projekt Red, who worked on the likes of Bulletstorm, The Witcher 2, Sniper: Ghost Warrior and Painkiller.

The game has been in development since 2009, and the developer created a brand new proprietary engine for the game call Road Hog. When originally announced it was revealed that the game would be released in September 2011, although its price point and retail details have not been formalized. We are guessing that it will be released as a digital exclusive.

The game transports players to a haunting, dystopian future, with humanity on the verge of extinction, confined to its last standing city and under constant threat from the robotic hordes that aim to annihilate mankind. The narrative draws inspiration from William Gibson, Neal Stephenson, and Philip K. Dick (especially Blade Runner in story).

In the only remaining human city of Bezoar, Major Fletcher, an Army Combat Veteran and soldier of the CLN, is dragged into a conflict between two of mankind’s greatest enemies. He is to discover that nothing is what it seems to be.

Some interesting looking gameplay footage has emerged, and it is looking rather delicious.
