StarCraft 2 estimated to sell 4 million units

30 July 2009

Ever vocal Wedbush Morgan video game industry analyst Michael Pachter predicts that StarCraft 2 will sell 4 million units within its first few months of sales.
When discussing the more important issue of when the game will be released, Pachter did not have much to say.

Blizzard announced a while back that it will run the StarCraft 2 beta for around 6 months. With only five months left of 2009, a release before the end of the year will be impossible to achieve if the developer sticks to its original beta plan.

Pachter told Gamasutra that he believes the SC2 beta will not require the full six months, and a 2009 release is therefore still viable.
Blizzard is expected to begin beta testing Star Craft 2 within the next 6 weeks.
