MSI, Corex sponsor local gaming team

1 October 2009

Micro-Star International Co., Ltd. (MSI) and local distributor Corex IT Distribution Dynamics (Corex) has announced a sponsorship deal with the competitive gaming clan ATF (Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms).
ATF Manager, Johnathan ‘Xerowing’ Smit had this to say about the partnership:

“With the partnership between ATF (Alcohol Tobacco Firearms) and MSI / Corex, we believe that the ability for up and coming teams to gain brand affiliation status has been demonstrated. This opens
doors for both new and established teams and serves to grow the South African gaming community.

ATF looks forward to working in partnership to promote the MSI / Corex brand at live events and during online tournaments. Through hard work and dedication, we believe that we can meet and exceed the high standards of our supporting partners and brands.”

Corex and MSI have confirmed that they will be sponsoring the ATF Alcohol team MSI P55 motherboards, along with MSI graphics cards and Corex, in partnership with Thermaltake, will be supplying Thermaltake Element S chassis for the six players. The players are:

•    Ian ‘GReeN_ORB’ Sharland
•    Jacques ‘CarNage’ Rossouw
•    Joshua ‘Hysteria’ Venter
•    Andrew ‘Stormtrpr’ Isles
•    Leunis ‘Turbo’ van Rooyen
•    Boudhi ‘Euphoria’ Emmett

This sponsorship deal is a first for South Africa, in that prior to this sponsorship, no first-tier hardware manufacturer had given a direct sponsorship to any gaming team in South Africa. Hopefully, this sponsorship will serve as an incentive to other manufacturers to get involved in the growing South African gaming scene.
