This week saw the culmination of the iGame corporate Domination League which had various IT and gaming companies fielding Call of Duty 4 (CoD4) teams.
The entrants included MyGaming, NAG Magazine, iGame, iBurst, Incredible Connection and Dial a Nerd.
The semi-final saw NAG go up against MyGaming and iBurst go head to head with iGame. iGame defeated iBurst, and MyGaming managed to beat NAG for the second time in the tournament.
MyGaming defeated NAG comfortably in a previous match, but NAG came prepared the second time around. MyGaming beat NAG comfortably on the first map, but the second map saw the team of print journalists come back fighting hard, being shut out narrowly 13-11. This put MyGaming through to the finals where they would play the indomitable team iGame.
Going into the match, MyGaming was confident. The first map played was Backlot. MyGaming started well, taking two early rounds. iGame however took a 3-2 lead, and went on to extend the lead to 22-2 at the close of the first map.
The second map – Crash – was no better for MyGaming, who again lost 22-2. Eloquently executed team work, well placed grenades and sharp and accurate reflexes from iGame proved too much for team MyGaming.
Despite a solid leading performance from [MG]Maplassie, team iGame’s collective competitive experience enabled them to outplay MyGaming in almost every round.
NAG went on to play iBurst for 3rd and 4th place. It was a close match with iBurst eventually coming out tops, winning both rounds 13-11.
