Wits Wargames Club, an affiliate of Mind Sports South Africa, has announced that it will be hosting the first South African Heroes of Newerth (HoN) LAN tournament.
The tournament is sponsored by the game’s developer S2 Games, who will be providing a cash prize of US$200 (R1500) to the winning team, as well as 5 free pre-paid HoN Accounts.
The tournament will be held on Saturday, 13 March 2010 at the Old Mutual Sports Hall on the Wits University Campus, Johannesburg.
The LAN tournament is a groundbreaking event as it will allow South African gamers and teams to compete online and at a LAN event simultaneously for the first time ever.
Season LAN organisers the Lair will administer the tournament, and the network will be provided by Mayhem, so gamers can expect a solid and well organised event.
Space is limited, and registrations will be limited to 16 teams.
