Metro 2033 will use Steamworks

Publisher THQ announced today that Valve’s Steamworks suite will power PC copies for the upcoming 4A post apocalyptic shooter Metro 2033.

According to Shacknews Steamworks will provide the game with “auto-updating, Steam Achievements, Steam support for in-game DLC and more” and will require the game to be played through Steam.

Metro 2033 will be released on PC and Xbox 360 on the 19th of March. It will offer DirectX 11 gameplay and will take place in post apocalyptic Moscow in which the player will face enemies ranging from human renegades to mutated rat-demons. 

THQ has also confirmed that those gamers who pre order the title on Steam will also receive a free copy of Red Faction Guerilla.
