R16,000 worth of prizes in iGame’s March Mayhem

Local internet provider iBurst’s gaming division, iGame, has announced that it will be hosting a massive month long series of competitions for various games on its servers. An impressive total of R16,000 worth of prizes will be doled out by the end of the month.

Prizes will be given away in various challenges for Call of Duty 4, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, Left 4 Dead 2 and Heroes of Newerth. There are no entry requirements, although players will have to be registered in the iGame forums in order to enter the various competitions.

iGame CoD4 Pro Cup (March)

To qualify for this competition, players must post a screen shot of their best score in team death match during the month. The screen shot must include the server name and IP, and no cropped or edited entries will be accepted. The scores may be entered from any map, excluding Shipment and Killhouse.

There must be at least 8 other players in the score sheet for the screen shot to be accepted, and the player must have at least 30 kills.

The top 12 scoring players for the month will then play in the final which will take place at the end of the month. The final will be a once off free for all match.

The top finisher in the finals will win an Intel E 5200 CPU, Intel GD43 Motherboard and will be automatically entered into the Pro Cup Final in April.

Second place will also be entered into the April finals.

March HON tournament

Included in iGame’s March Madness will be SA’s first live HON LAN tournament which will take place at WITS on March 13. Read more here.

R6000 worth of prizes will be won at this event.

HON Achievement tournament

The HON achievement tournament will take place between March 1 and March 12. In order to enter players must get 5 kills in a single map. A screen shot depicting a score of 5 kills may be sent to [email protected].

A winner will randomly be picked from the pool of entries, and will receive an Intel i3 CPU, Gigabyte H55 Motherboard and 2GB DDR3 RAM.

There will also be a second HON achievement tournament held by iGame, in which players will race to get 120 kills between March 1 and March 7 17:00. The 120 kills must be confirmed in no more than 10 screen shots.

The first person to achieve 120 kills will win a Force 3D ATi 5770 1GB graphics card.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Bandwidth Challenge

In order to qualify for the competition, players need to get at least 500 kills in Bad Company 2 during March. Not only that, but those 500 kills must be confirmed in no more than 11 screenshots. All screenshots must be posted in the relevant thread in the iGame forums.

The first player to post the required screen shots to prove they got 500 kills will win a 5GB iDSL package from iGame, which includes free iGame Unlimited gaming bandwidth for 12 months.

More March Madness

On top of those already mentioned, iGame will also be hosting a Call of Duty Elite Tournament where player can win a Force 3D ATi HD5770 graphics card, as well as a Left 4 Dead 2 Masters Achievement Tournament  where they can win another HD5770.

The aim of the competition is to get everyone who plays online regularly involved, and not just the regular competitive players.
