HoN hits open beta

29 March 2010

S2 Games’ self confessed DotA clone, Heroes of Newerth, has now come out of a lengthy closed beta phase, and is entering open public beta testing.

MyGaming gave away around 100 HoN beta keys last year, and tens of thousands more were distributed around the world. The opening of the beta will mean that gamers no longer need a key to play the game.

The private beta will end on March 31, and the beta will open to the public the following day.

Despite it still being in its closed beta stage, HoN has picked up impressive momentum within the competitive gaming community.

About Heroes of Newerth

They therefore set out to create something that uses the same gameplay mechanic as DOTA, but with better visuals, a slicker interface etc.
