The difference between Team Fortress 2 on PC and the consoles is like night and day.
Nay, the most absolute analogy of a difference of two things I can think of is to say it’s like the difference between Team Fortress 2 on PC and consoles.
Since its release, the Xbox 360 version, for example, has received a grand total of four updates. The PC version, by comparison, has had 546 patches to date – that’s according to the Team Fortress Wiki.
As a result of those updates, the PC version is not only more than eight years old and still going strong, but offers a completely different experience.
And yet, for all of the additions, tweaks, improvements and events that have hit Team Fortress 2 for PC, it has yet to receive a competitive/ranked matchmaking mode.
That all changes with the confirmation of competitive matchmaking by the Team Fortress team on both Reddit and Steam.
The competitive beta is still in its early phases, but should breathe new life into the game. We wouldn’t be at all surprised to see a complete resurgence.
It’s a pity that South Africa’s Team Fortress 2 community has waned a lot since its heyday.
