Overwatch’s latest closed beta update introduces a ranked game mode titled Competitive Play.

Competitive Play is aimed at more serious Overwatch players seeking the challenge of ranked matches.

The patch implements monthly seasons, which are made up of different divisions or tiers that players can use to measure their rankings in the current season.

Players who wish to play ranked games will need to be at least level 25 before they can enter the game mode.

Similar to other games that have competitive or ranked modes, Blizzard has implemented a penalty for leaving a competitive game.

Unlike regular matches, Competitive Play will not feature any rewards at launch, focussing solely on ranked competition.
