As we click our knuckles, take a deep breath, and prepare to fight like hell when Doom arrives next month, the developers at id Software have given gamers a closer look at the single-player component of the highly-anticipated FPS.
Showcasing the game via a Twitch stream, creative director Hugo Martin and executive producer Marty Stratton played through a few stages of the campaign, revealing some new details about the game.
There are no primary and secondary weapons here – in classic Doom style, you can hold a large amount of weapons which can be selected via an expansive weapon-wheel. More interestingly, there is no reloading – guns will continue to fire until your clip is empty and the demon’s body resembles that of a meat-patty.
The developers also highlighted that while Doom is loud, fast, and undeniably badass in its design, the game does feature an interesting story which will keep gamers intrigued while they blow away hell’s minions.
Doom launches on 13 May on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
