Sony has shed a lot of light on its upcoming Playstation 4 console, detailing the used game restrictions and online requirements for the machine.
In terms of the online requirements, Sony’s Jack Tretton announced that the console will not require online authentication for games.
Additionally, he revealed that there will be no restrictions on the purchasing and trading of used games.
To please Playstation gamers even further, Playstation Plus memberships will be carried over to PS4 with no additional cost. There will be a new free game every month, with three of the indie titles, including Don’t Starve, coming in the first months.
The company also detailed the game-trading process, while having a poke at Microsoft’s convoluted trade-in system:

Jack Tretton couldn’t even speak after he announced this. The crowd really went wild and I’m sure I heard shouts of Sony, Sony!! Microfail sold their soul, thank god Sony still have a conscience.
