Samurai action-RPG Nioh set to release in 2016

10 April 2016

Nioh is a historical action-RPG title created by Koei Tecmo which is set to release in 2016 as a PlayStation 4 exclusive.

Nioh has been in development for a cumulative total of 10 years, undergoing a re-branding from ‘Oni’ along with other developmental changes.

The game has maintained its projected features however, and offers players a hardcore role-playing experience similar to that offered by the Souls series.

Nioh is set in feudal Japan, with the player stepping into the shoes of William – a Samurai who is the son of a Japanese noble and a Western women.

A demo of the game will be available from 26 April to 5 May 2016.

“Players who manage to clear a stage of the Alpha Demo will be able to download The Mark of the Conqueror DLC. This will entitle you to some special DLC in the full game,” said Team Ninja, offering a valuable reward for players who can master the demo.
