PlayStation Plus turns one year old; free content to celebrate

6 July 2011

Can you believe PlayStation Plus is only one year old? More like ten and a half months old if you count all of the hacking related downtime…

Regardless, the EU PlayStation crew have had some delicious looking cake, and added up the total amount of free content that has been released on PlayStation Plus over the past year. Going on an approximate value based on average RRP of available content during its first year, excluding discounts, calculated using exchange rates as at June 2011, they calculate that over £700 (±R7,560) worth of free content has been passed on to subscribers. Not bad for a one year membership at R489 (R40.75 per month).

For those who sign up or renew a 12-month PlayStation Plus subscription between 6 July 2011 and 3 August 2011, there are some freebies in store.

•    Sign up for a 12 month Plus subscription and get an extra 3 months for free.
