The PS Move motion controller got off to a shaky start, with only a few titles managing to capture much attention. Sony seems intent on injecting some life into the device with a line-up of titles set to hit the market in time for the silly shopping season.
One of the stronger contenders is Dance Star Party, a dancing motion capture title. At launch the game boasts 40 tracks, 160 dance routines across four difficulty settings, for a total of 10 hours of dancing mayhem. A Party mode supports up to 20 participants, and it also features a karaoke mode for those less inclined to bust a move. The game is compatible with Sing Star microphones, or uses the Move camera’s built-in mic. October 2011 is the launch window.
Also on the cards for late 2011 is a fitness game imaginatively titled Move Fitness. As one would expect, it is crammed full or personal training and tracking features, and a number of exercise routines for those who like to exercise in the comfort of their lounge.
The soon to be launched Resistance 3 (7 September) will feature Move Gun support. Little Big Planet is going to be receiving a Move Pack DLC, which will presumably allow players to point where they want things to be built, or the direction they want Sack Boy to…move.
Sony seems intent on giving current and prospective Move owners something to look forward to, and more will likely emerge during the course of Gamescom.
