Last month, MyGaming reported on South African retailer, BT Games, listing Jak and Daxter HD Collection on their site for release next year in 2012.
International websites quickly picked up on this and started citing the listing as an allusion to the collection being in the works for PS3 – a rumour that was then pushed further by Norwegian gaming site, Playstationspill.no, “quoting” Naughty Dog’s Justin Richmond confirming as such at an Uncharted 3 event.
But there was no official word on the matter – until now.

Sony Computer Entertainment America has confirmed to IGN that a Jak and Daxter HD Collection is coming – and it will likely be next year.
There were no other details given, but they did say that they “will have more news to share shortly.”
Jak and Daxter was a largely popular title on the Playstation 2, and carried the story of the titular duo across six games; the games getting an HD remastering will probably be Jak and Daxter and the Precursor’s Legacy, Jak II and Jak 3.

The Jak X driving game is unlikely to be included – and the PSP-only titles, Daxter, and Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier, are also doubtful.
If you’re in love with the idea of visiting your favourites from the last generation, pen this on your list of games to get next year.
Maybe this will spark enough interest to get Naughty Dog to work on a new Jak and Daxter title.
