Batman: Arkham Knight, Rocksteady’s final foray into the Dark Knight’s life, is almost here, but of course, some critics have gotten an early copy and we have their reviews summarised for you below.

| Platform | Metacritic Critic Scores | Metacritic User Scores |
| PC | 64 | 1.8 |
| PS4 | 87 | 7.3 |
| Xbox One | 85 | 6.1 |
Like with The Witcher 3, all early copies of the game are for PS4, so there won’t be any Metacritic scores for Xbox One or PC, but we imagine they’ll be around the same.
Generalised scores aside, what do the critics think of the caped crusader’s final adventure from Rocksteady?
Polygon – 10/10 (PS4)
“Despite the game’s size, Batman’s on the same beat he’s been since Arkham Asylum, broadly speaking: hunting for clues and grabbing gadgets that get him ever closer to catching the bad guy behind it all. But Rocksteady has honed that formula in Arkham Knight to something approximating perfection.”
Gamespot – 7/10 (PS4)
“What Batman: Arkham Knight does well, however, it does really well. Gotham is a dazzling playground where neon lights pierce through the rain and mist; all it takes is a single glimpse to tell you that this is a city in need… Yet most of these elements–excellent acting, wonderful animations, moody soundtrack–are ones that Batman: Arkham City also excelled in, making Arkham Knight’s missteps all the more noticeable. ”
Gamesradar – 4/5 (PS4)
“Driving the Batmobile around this environment feels like a valuable addition to the series, even if the handling is a little slippery… Unfortunately, Rocksteady overcomplicates it beyond that purpose and does a lot more harm than good. ”
Gameinformer – 9.5/10 (PS4)
“Gotham is a beautifully realized playground for Batman, ranging from a borough filled with century-old architecture to another glowing with a bombardment of Times Square-like advertisements and light… At the end of it all, Batman: Arkham Knight delivers a great sense of closure for this series. Rocksteady leaves a few plot threads dangling to tease and taunt us, but the grim tale that started all the way back in Arkham Asylum is done.”
IGN US/UK – 9.2 (PS4)
“The campaign is complemented by a ton of mostly excellent side quests built around stopping villains like Two Face, Penguin, and of course The Riddler… If this is in fact the last Rocksteady-developed Batman game, the series will end on a high note. Arkham Knight is the biggest Batman game yet, not just in map size, but in the wide range of different types of gameplay, and its collection of characters.”
