With the improvements in cellular phone tech, i think it will not be too absurd to foresee that console=smart phone/ tablet sometime in the future.
a Few years ago i already had a phone with a micro HDMI slot – and it worked well to get my movies played on my tv. Now if an Atom processor could be shrunk enough to fit, with some mobile Radeon/ GeForce on-board and a built-in 128GB USB-drive, WiFi and Bluetooth are already in the circuit boards, on-board sound is pretty good, though more than stereo will need an outside processor. Samsung already has the 3D VR in place.
Actually, i foresee that PCs might be on their way out, with the micro architecture catching up to where we should not be surprised to see smartphones literally being used as servers and workstations sometime in the near future.
After all, my phone doubles as my internet hub for my computers, and if i wanted to go without gaming and loved struggling with interfaces, i could have left my case and connected my phone as my primary PC (tried once, the hassle sucked, win10 phone might be the answer).
