Gears of War 3 has noob-friendly “Casual” multiplayer playlist

25 July 2011

Epic’s Cliff Bleszinski confirmed at a Comic Con panel sometime over the weekend that Gears of War 3’s multiplayer mode will include a noob-friendly “Casual” playlist for anybody who’s too afraid of hitting the ranked playlists and being called nasty names because they keep running into walls and jamming their active reloads.

The playlist features aim-assist, and – presumably – hugs, kisses, and lots and lots of emotional support. Everybody’s first grenade tag is pretty rough.

In an M Night Shyamalan-like twist, however, anyone who’s previously played Gears of War multiplayer (including the recent Gears of War 3 beta) isn’t allowed, and will be barred from entry. This treehouse is for NOOBS ONLY. And cute boys. Giggle.

“(Gears) 3 is the perfect one [for new players] to get into because it’s the easiest to play,” added the game’s executive producer, Rod Fergusson.

Gears of War 3 launches 20 September on Xbox only. Nyah nyah nyah nyah nyah.
