I watched Robocop at a friend’s place when I was eight. Several times, actually. It was totally our favourite thing to do on Saturdays. If you haven’t seen the movie, that probably doesn’t mean much, but if you have, can you believe Grant-up-the-road’s parents let us watch it? It’s only, like, one of the most unremittingly violent and disturbing films ever made. Which is why it was so awesome, of course.
Now Xbox LIVE is celebrating that awesomeness by launching a range of Robocop-themed Avatar gear, including t-shirts, two robot pets, and Robocop’s Robocop suit. I don’t usually buy this stuff (except when I do), but there’s no way I can resist buying myself a Robocop suit. Nothing says “I mean business, citizen” like a cyborg cop, and it’s not like being on the bottom of the Halo scoreboard is doing my gamer credibility any good.
The Robocop Avatar collection arrives 25 August. In the meantime, check it out in the trailer below.
