BT Games: Gears of War 3 midnight launches countrywide

7 September 2011

Do you know where you’re going to be at 23:59 on 19 September? I do!

BT Games has announced they’ll be hosting Gears of War 3 midnight launch events at shops all over the country, which is probably a good idea because those Locust could turn up anywhere and we should always be prepared.

Well, that’s how I explained my way out of that little national security incident at Cape Town International a while back. I mean, carrying bolo grenades in my pockets is just being responsible, right? Exactly.

Savage Kantus Shaman

According to BT Games, the following shops will be getting in on this big idea:

    Boardwalk
    Cavendish
    Canal Walk
    Capegate*
    Centurion*
    Clearwater
    Cresta
    Eastgate*
    East Rand Mall
    Fourways
    Glen
    Greenstone
    Gateway
    Highveld
    Ilanga
    Mimosa
    Menlyn
    Northgate
    Pavilion*
    Rustenburg
    Somerset
    Tygervalley
    V&A Waterfront
    Vincent Park
    Walmer Park

Those venues marked with asterisks will be “hosted by Microsoft themselves, and will have a little more to them”, according to BT Games.

Savage Grenadier Elite

There’s also a cool preorder incentive in the intimidating shapes of Savage Kantus Shaman and Savage Grenadier Elite DLC models for multiplayer.

I chose the Kantus, of course, because I just can’t get enough of that growly sound he makes when he runs.
