EA confirms two-discs for Xbox version of Battlefield 3

14 September 2011

So the rumours were true – EA has officially confirmed that Battlefield 3’s Xbox 360 game box will include not one, but TWO discs.

Not because Xbox gamers are getting loads of cool extra stuff, but because the Xbox DVD format can’t quite manage to confine Battlefield 3’s awesomeness to just a single 7 GB disc.

As I originally predicted, the single- and multiplayer bits of the game are getting a disc each. Man, that Magic 8 Ball totally just paid for itself.

“Battlefield 3 for Xbox 360 ships on two discs with endless hours of spectacular high-definition gameplay,” EA has told Eurogamer.

“Disc one features the stunning multiplayer, co-op levels and HD installation content. Disc two features the superb single-player campaign.”

Nope, I’ve no idea what “HD installation content” is either.

My Magic 8 Ball suggested I “Focus and ask again”, so I did and it said, “Absolutely”.

You know, I take back what I said about it earlier. Magic 8 Ball responded, “No doubt about it”. Oh, Magic 8 Ball, I love you.
