Does your Kinect feel tired and listless?
Is it collecting dust in some forgotten corner of your TV stand?
Is its pillow damp in the mornings, its eyes swollen and ruddy with the fading vestiges of some secret grief?
Mine too.
There’s a glimmer of hope on the horizon, though – according to Microsoft, big things are coming its way.
“Like any other thing that is new, we came out with a set of applications to show off the platform, to bring others in,” Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer told attendees at the Web 2.0 summit in San Francisco on 18 October 2011. (via GI.biz).
“Our second generation is now happening.”
Citing the recent launch of the Windows Kinect toolkit, he added, “That kind of opens up a whole new sphere of innovation with Kinect and the PC. This holiday I think you’ll see an explosion of things around the Xbox and Kinect.”
Seriously, though. I just want a nice game for it.
