During the reveal event, Microsoft Studios head Phil Spencer announced that they would be producing 15 exclusive titles for the Xbox One during its first year on the market. Eight of these games will be new franchises altogether, and we were given a peek at just one of these – Quantum Break.

Below are the AAA titles that were revealed for the Xbox One:

Quantum Break

From Remedy Entertainment, creators of Max Payne and Alan Wake, comes a game they promise will “blur the line between gaming and TV by integrating drama and gameplay into one seamless, uniquely immersive experience. How you play the game impacts the show, and the show informs how you play the game.”

Forza Motorsport 5

Developed by Turn 10 Studios is the latest edition of the highly-rated racing franchise will be exclusive to Xbox One at launch. Forza Motorsport 5 will make use of cloud features and Turn 10 promises to “set a new bar for racing games”.

EA Sports unveiled its new Ignite engine, which it claims will deliver innovations in “human intelligence” (so no more crummy DLC EA?), “true player motion, and living worlds”. EA also announced there will be exclusive content for Xbox One revealed in the coming months.

Call of Duty: Ghosts

Call of Duty Ghosts boasts a new world, a new cast of characters, and a story written by Stephen Gaghan (screenwriter of Syriana and Traffic). Ghosts will also showcase a new next-generation engine from Infinity Ward (so we better get used to it because it’s with us until Call of Duty 17).

Activision and Microsoft also announced the renewal of their partnership that will see the return of the Call of Duty Championship, as well as downloadable content debuting first the Xbox platform.

i had a rather large and intense arguemnt last night with a friend over this. For years he has slated Call of Duty for not being his type of game. Now all of a sudden he is super stoked for ghosts because it looks pretty and im a heartless basher because i own every call of duty to date and im wondering why, oh why, did i buy black ops 2… and im contemplating the odds of me skipping ghosts entirely. I enjoy the stories of call of duty, as short as they are, but i cant see myself forking out day one price on a “next-gen” title that is merely a shinier version of a game i own 8 different copies of already with a 5 hour campaign that ill play once and never touch again.

In all honesty even the upcoming battlefield 4 doesnt grab me in the slightest. all i see with these games is the fact that im either dropping 5 grand on a next gen console or 5 grand on a new graphics card for expansion packs for games i already own.

    to add on though:
the unfortunate truth now, however, is i will at some point have to purchase one or both of these titles on a specific platform purely so i can play with my friends… the problem with that now is one side wants the Xbox Thre…*cough* One, myself and one other mate are all for Sony this gen and the rest are all my master race brethren… looks like im ultimately doomed to all 3 plats… AGAIN.

Aint nobody got money fo dat!
