August’s Games with Gold includes the Metro series and MGSV: Ground Zeroes

Games with Gold - Metro 2033, Last Light and MGS: Ground Zeroes

4A Games’ Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light are easily some of our favourite modern shooters, if not of all time.

They ooze atmosphere out of their every orifice; they’re incredibly fulfilling to play through and eventually complete; provide a good challenge; and tell a narrative well worth diving into.

It’s for that reason, older titles or not, along with the inclusion of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes that this is perhaps one of the best Games with Gold months yet.

Games with Gold - August 2015

Games with Gold for August, 2015.

Games with Gold has a long way to go if it’s to match PlayStation Plus’ offering, but Microsoft are certainly getting there.

For those who would like to know who gets what:

Xbox One

* Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes ($19.99 ERP) Available from August 1-31

* How to Survive: Storm Warning Edition ($19.99 ERP) Available from August 16-September 15

Xbox 360

* Metro 2033 ($19.99 ERP) Available from August 1-15

* Metro: Last Light ($19.99 ERP) Available from August 16-31

How to Survive: Storm Warning Edition is definitely the weakest of the titles on offer, but it really doesn’t matter all that much.

    So… windows 10, cross platform compatibility with pc, backwards compatibility, mouse and keyboard support inbound and games like these… yet it’s still on the back foot with respect to sales compared playstation? Just more evidence to support the concept of the unthinking majority.
