A map leaked on NeoGaf appears to detail the world of Red Dead Redemption 2.
The map was quickly pulled from the gaming forum, but not before a few enterprising members took screenshots and cleaned up the image quality.
The new map is much larger than the original game’s, with a number of water bodies and the appearance of islands – indicating that the player character will be able to swim for the first time.
The game map also features a full-blown city for the first time – “New Bordeaux” (a fictional take on New Orleans?)
Perhaps the biggest news is that the game appears to be a prequel, and will feature many of the iconic towns and locations from the first game. although they will be far less developed than when we last saw them.
The game will still feature a railroad system, but the Western side of the map (including Blackwater from the first game) will be relatively untouched by man.
Rockstar have yet to announce a sequel to their 2010 Western hit but development on an upcoming sequel has been rumoured.
