Firaxis has revealed that XCOM 2 will be debuting on consoles later this year.
The game will be available to play for Xbox One and PS4 users on 6 September in North America and 9 September globally.
The port will be handled by new developer “The Workshop”, and will remain largely identical to the PC version with the exception of controller changes.
“The incredible reception of XCOM 2 has been rewarding and humbling for the team, and we’ve known console fans have been clamoring to play the game too,” said XCOM 2 Creative Director Jake Solomon.
“As avid console players ourselves, we’re excited to work with The Workshop to bring XCOM 2 to all of our fans.”
The PC-version of XCOM 2 originally released in February, receiving outstanding reviews despite a number of technical and performance issues.
