MWEB 200/GB out of bundle fees.

Just thought you guys should know that this issue is currently blowing up all over their Facebook page. Apparently they, by default, charge you 20c per megabyte once you exceeded your cap, instead of being good people and just capping you.

Remember, when you do business with sharks, expect to get eaten.

Wow. That's not even what I pay for out-of-bundle mobile data.

This nonsense reminds me of my current contract with Virgin Mobile - which I need to terminate either today or tomorrow and lose R110 doing so.

I saw this on MyBB. Best part is that if you go into OOB territory, you can't change to the per/GB option. So go one MB past your cap and you'd better switch your modem off till the end of the month.

Smells to like a major sh*tstorm that Mweb are going to have to address. Obscene charges like this are just exploitative.

Tis why I'm going uncapped...

Donisia, I really hope things work out for you. MWEB is just getting badmouthed as of late. Would be a shame to hear you having problems (outside the typically ordinary one usually incurs).

Ya, people used to live MWEB, not so much anymore though. I would rather go with someone like Afrihost or Web Africa.

Uncapped is lekker unless you start using too much and they shape you, which is what I'm finding with my WA account at the moment, and I use around 100GB per month, which I don't think is a ridiculous amount. Maybe 8GB or so per day.

I have cancelled that one now and as of 1 Dec, I'll be on a business account from Afrihost that is properly uncapped, unshaped and unmetered. It costs more, but I'm saving money by not having DSTV anymore, getting all my TV through the interwebs.

The weird thing is that I had only heard good things about Mweb until a few months ago, then people started badmouthing them?

Ya apparently they suddenly started throttling people really badly, and now there's this... If you have a capped account, it should be capped, and not charged at OOB rates unless they give you the option. Even then, most ISP's give you the option to top up your capped account rather than charging OOB rates

Please people - keep all talks of extortion within "legal" bounds. We wouldn't want MyGaming sued for the nonsense its members posts...

I'm pretty sure in terms of the legality of forum users and forum providers (I'm by no means a legal guru), opinions of the users who are essentially consumers of the forum and its content are in no way representative of the forum provider's stance on said issues and subject matter unless explicitly stated otherwise. Essentially suing Mygaming for what its members/readers/consumers say is a fruitless endeavor if anything (unless a slander article were to be written, and that's a different story altogether). Also, you allude to the nonsense its members post, which is an opinion I guess I'll respect for its existence. But it means nothing in the grand scheme of the discussion when you don't elaborate on what you mean by nonsense, because I take it that you speak in context of my post and Mister 44's response to it.

You see what happens when you don't use smileys within a post; sarcasm and humour are undetected.

I do not wish to use smileys in posts, but this is the result of that... Confusion.

What's wrong with using emoticons?

A new fad?

As for OP - lol... Mweb really have a knack for functioning as a sort of bell-curve. They started out as being awesome... then they became shit. Then they became the broadband uncapped revolutionaries we all praised... Then they became shit... I guess they can only go up from here.

Well hopefully Ill be fine, im getting a 4MB line, so hopefully i can use a lil more, i mean i could go through 100GB in less than half a month...

When you add emo(tions)ticons to your post, people can tell the mood you're in; don't, and people will think you're always serious.
