Yeah, it does take a while. The irony is that your script will probably have better progress indication than their official launcher :D

Thanks updated the script with new version.

Reading that article now I have to somewhat agree with the first comment. I will be very hesitant to preorder/back any of FD's future games.
 
ARGH! Stop updating this thread, it makes me keep reading it and wanting it =P

Either this or Dragon Age Inquisition.

Very nice, unfortunately though always-online games and mods are always a pain to deal with. Worst case they can get you banned, best case you have to update them every few patches. With a true offline mode the possibilities would have been endless.

Its standalone software that uses the windows speech engine. I'm messing around with the trial version setting up commands in some of my other games. I might get the full version with the ED voice pack later on.

It doesnt actually hook into the game. It sends key presses to the active application. So for example if you configure it to set throttle to 0 it will send a keypress of x to the game. The info about the universe is just pre recorded stuff that plays back on your request. you can have notepad open and ask it about supernovas and it will still give you the info. Hope that makes somewhat sense.

Having a blast in the game currently. So many things to do and i ended up trying to fuel scoop. Caused more damage to my poor eagle than the fuel is worth.

Anyone else having issues downloading the client? Mine keeps on bombing out with an error saying one of the data files cannot be validated. I've tried disabling firewall and antivirus, deleting and reinstalling. Nothing works. Sucks big time. So looking forward to playing this.

Any info appreciated. :)

Edit: I've also tried downloading the single player combat training first and then upgrading. No luck.

did you have it pre-installed and now your just trying to upgrade?

I had the combat training module installed and working. Then upgraded using the same launcher yesterday. That's when I got the error. I just preordered the mercenary edition.

Tried reinstalling with no luck. Downloaded the client installer directly from the store as well.

Just a thought when you Un - installed it did you remove the data from your document? For some reason ed the game is stored in documents then the launcher is stored in the path you desire..

Hmm.. I did a folder search and saw a Frontier folder in "My Documents". For some reason I thought it was for save games only. I'll try that later today, thanks.

The file giving th error is under /users/appdata. I've deleted everything in there as well as in the install directory. Will just do a thorough search and delete everything.

Do I delete registry entries as well?
