Bethesda believes Interplay no longer has a right to develop game
Bethesda suing Interplay for Fallout MMO
Bethesda suing Interplay for Fallout MMO
Bethesda can go screw themselves.
Goooo Interplay!!!!
I can not agree with that statement.
1 I love the original fallout games to bit
2 Fallout 3 was brilliant even if it didn't live up to all the hype.
3 Had Bethesda no rescued the fallout ip there would never again have been another fallout game.
Interplay did good while they had money but screwed up and lost most if not all. I feel fallout is in good hands and Interplay can lay down and die like a good bankrupt developer.

I can't help thinking that Bethesda is getting too big for its boots.
Well if you had a great stable of games behind you. wouldn't you have a big ego to defend aswell?
I disagree! Fallout 3 was good. It wasn't great, it certainly wasn't brilliant, but it was good. Fallout 3 was the same as Oblivion and Morrowind and pretty much every game Bethesda has ever made. Gameplay is mediocre, yet the visuals stand out. It was a glorified, free-range, open-ended action-adventure game with RPG elements. Nothing more, nothing less. At least, this is how I feel about it. It did nothing exceptionally, but it did nothing horribly either. In my eyes, it was just above average.
I do agree, Interplay was an amazing developer, but they ruined themselves with bad business practices. However, for Bethesda to come out and throw the law book at Interplay because of their suspicions... It's a lowly tactic and in taking this to court, it's a waste of not only their money, but also Interplay's.
I can't help thinking that Bethesda is getting too big for its boots.
I just want to see one more Interplay game. Even if it's their last dying breath, I want to see it.
I'd like to think I wouldn't feel the need to kick another company while they're down and trying their best to get back up
It would be awesome if they collaborated, rather than just staring each other down. Interplay would get whatever assistance they'd need and Bethesda would get their royalties. It's win-win.

Interplay couldn't deliver and now they have to pay the piper.Go redeem thyselfs.
TO each his own. Yes F3 has alot of room for improvement and yes they used a dated engine but be totally, brutally honest with yourself. Had they made a really hardcore RPG would it have gathered the sales it did? Unfortunately Besthesda is a company and they are in it for the money. Hardcore RPG has always been a niche market. The majority of players nowadays want something straight forward where they can just pick up and play. They dont want to bother reading an entire rule book and sit there with several spreadsheets open to get the most out of their game. What Besthesda did was open fallout to this new generation of gamers while keeping enough RPG to keep the more hardcore fans happy. I admit i love a good hardcore RPG where u spend hours planing ur tactics before striking only to die horibly because u forgot to cast protect from evil.
I truly enjoyed F3. I found the scrip and Side Quests mostly well written and well thought out. It lacked some of the dark humor and unique writing of the first 2 Fallout games but thats always going to happen if a new studio picks up the IP.
Im glad their suing just like im glad 3DRealms is being sued. Imagine they hadn't and we would have been waiting for another 12 years to get something that looks like it belongs in 1998. Im sorry but u will never convince me Interplay could have done a better job. I saw Van Buren and was not impressed.
Did you ever play Stonekeep ?
The first was in relation to the Fallout MMORPG, which stipulated that Interplay had to have raised at least $30 million in funding for the project by the end of March 2009. As evidence such fund-raising did not occur, Bethesda points to a June 30 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission which said Interplay had $2.54 million in debt and only $16,000 in cash assets.
Bethesda's complaint also claims that, 11 days after being informed the Fallout MMORPG license had been revoked and it could not enter into a deal with any third parties, Interplay formalized a deal with Bulgarian studio Masthead to develop the MMORPG Project V13.
The second part of the suit accuses Interplay of riding the coattails of Fallout 3 by re-releasing and repackaging older Fallout games without permission.
Finally, Bethesda accuses Interplay of entering into deals with several online game distributors without its consent, violating the licensing agreement yet again.

Alright, so I've had a change of heart. Bethesda is completely justified in suing Interplay. Really, wtf?!
I'm disappointed in Interplay... They've had their chance to flutter back into the limelight and instead they've pretty much burnt their integrity at the stake? Yeah, it's time for Interplay to wither up and die. At least before they drag their name through the mud any further...
