This feels like the whole "Fist of Jesus" thread all over again. Can't believe a bunch of grown-ups (or mostly) can behave this way.
I am not part of this so-called "elite", which I assume is referring to the long standing, high post count members of the forum. I haven't had a bad interaction with them (them referring to old, high post count members, not the "elite" -shitty term) and haven't been treated in a shitty way by any of them.
This feels like an attention grab more than anything. Dampi is obviously fine with this (or so it seems atleast), so why can't everyone else be? This is how I feel about this vvvv
Scenario (fiction):
My dog was hit by a car in the street and died. I am angry, but know it was my fault because I left the gate open so my dog got out that way. The car was traveling too fast though, as it is only a 60 km/h zone and he was doing 100 km/h, so now my neighbor wants to report him to the police because he killed my dog while driving too fast. This is stupid as I know it was my fault for leaving the gate open. If the gate was closed my dog would not have been outside in the first place.

Granted, I was not very active on this entire forum on a whole because I have other online forums/mediums I visit regularly.
Yes, I have not been playing many of the games I've won mainly because my current laptop, which I used for work, recording music and gaming for the past 2 years, is old and out dated. Luckily I have received a relatively game worthy PC so that will change.
I totally accept and understand the ruling and have no issues with it as I can totally see how my actions in the past have also made some of you very unhappy nl. getting banned (because I did not read the GA rules) for being naive enough to regift some GA's to someone, at times to people in the group that entered those GA's, that I felt really wanted the game more than me at the moment. (Don't do that.)
Thing is that I see I have reached 1000 posts today, lol, and that looks like loads to me as I am someone that cannot be on the forum and post loads every day. That is why I don't even enter the 25 or 50 top forum member comps anymore as I just can't keep posting to get to that level and I am not willing to go to a thread where I have to post nonsense just to get my post count up to acceptable levels.
So, it looks like I will unfortunately not be able to post a tone worth of articles or comments in other areas of this forum as I have a YouTube channel I am building up, posting in other forums and web sites and I play games on console as well as mobile.. oh, and work. Point I want to make is that, if MyGaming was the only forum I frequented on a daily basis and it was my only source of IT related info or way to connect to the gaming community, then I would be lank busy on it and be one of the top "posters", but it isn't and that is unfortunately going to mean that I will probably never be able to participate in this GA group, which for me is a shame.
I love sharing with the community and giving stuff away when I have finances to do so. That means I will have to be doing open GA's and not group specific ones, which I really want to do as I would much rather want my GA's to go to a small group of gamers which I have grown to like and know rather than to some Russian syndicate gamer person thing.
That is just how I feel about it and how I see a group like this. A bunch of like minded gamers that want to be generous and giving whether they receive anything back or not.

I learned with the Fist of Jesus thread that sometimes we go through a tough time and then when something irks you you become so involved in the whole idea of it that things get said (written) that you won't say a week from now.
Truth is that everyone did what they thought were right. It's the way that we are. Wyzak wanted to stand up for someone and Eugene wanted to carry out the rules that were set in the beginning. Mephisto wanted to stand up for Wyzak and so forth.
We are all good people. And if you were all here then I'm sure we would have enjoyed a beer together.
We get worked up. It's part of being human. We have things that we are passionate about. I commend Wyzak for standing up for Dampi. I commend Eugene for making the Steamgifts group a group for people who are active in MyGaming as it was originally intended.
So lets take a step back and enjoy the community.

Geez guys put down the pitch forks and torches we are a community here some of us even irl friends why resort to things like this and insults and bickering. i think i only once called someone out and that was in the beginning when i joined here, so dampi has won a few games i wanted but that's life there will be more sales and more GA's
Maybe we should change the GA's around a bit have the guys that create GA's at any said time ask the community what they would like (don't go pluk die dam onder die eend se gat uit nie natuurlik)

You guys are blowing this WAAAAAAAAAY out of proportion than it needs to be and are treating it completely wrong. Treat this situation as a Guild leader would. And see both sides...
We already have established that dampi was mostly posting in the giveaway thread but it the whole situation should have gone like this...
(Before kick)
1. Eugene sends a PM to dampi telling him that hes posting only in the giveaway thread or only during comps, but he cant enter for say a week and needs to post on mygaming in general,then can enter GA again
2. Depending on what dampi would have replied take action
2a. He says no and carries on posting in only GA thread/only during comps, Eugene then procedes kicks
2b. He says ok and starts to post regularly.
Think of it like joining a guild and only participating in raids, not being in the guild but only when raid comes to get the epic loot.
Now for point 2.
Eugene posted the reason
"He definitely wasn't removed for winning, that was some very good luck but I won't blame him for it. The problem is that the group and giveaways are for people that contribute to the forums, and just posting in the giveaway thread doesn't contribute anything of worth. If he posts more outside this thread, I would have no issue with adding him back."
Dampi then said "LOL. True. Ain't no one got time to that. LOL. I'll get on it ASAP... when I get time. "
We dont know whats Dampi's situation is i mean maybe hes got personal issues or shit, when i had mine i stopped posting for a month or 2. And both Eugene and Dampi already got a deal sorted by saying when he posts more he will add him back into the group.
So why all the complaining?

Winning a lot of give-aways wasn't against the rules. But I believe we are now getting closer to the real reason why dampi was kicked.

Yes, he posted that in this thread as well. And I would have had no problem if he had removed people who had made no contribution or hadn't been seen in months, but kicking Dampi who has been very active should have raised some red flags for him. And if he had approached the group and asked us whether he should kick him or not this whole situation could have been averted. But he acted on his own.
Current poll stats are 58% yes, 41% no. It's far from a open and shut case. I would have loved for the community to come together after a vote result like this and say: hey, there clearly isn't an absolute one-sided opinion on this, so let's discuss, or let's give him the benefit of the doubt as a member of the community. Let's engage with him and ask him to post more over the next 5 days, or face the risk of being kicked out. That's the type of community that I would love for MyGaming to become.
