Hey all,
Just curious to hear what type of gamers we have here in the community. Are there some of you who play SP or MP games exclusively? And if you do, whats the reasoning behind it?
A bit about why I ask this question:
My choice for the past couple of years have been online multi player games, with the top 2 (if I look at hours clocked) being CSGO and WoW. For the past week or so I've taken a bit of break from gaming (IRL responsibilities) keep in mind I haven't gone this long without games in a very long time, this break made me have sort of an epiphany.... Multi player games are generally only fun in the beginning, when you're still a noob, with a kill death ratio 2-20(Lets use FPS games in this example, I can write a great wall of text for the effect MMO/Grinding type of games have on me, but I'll spare you
), you don't care about the 20 deaths, all you remember is the glorious feeling accompanying those 2 frags you got, because for a few brief moments you outwitted or out smarted and actual person on the internet.
But now as you get better at the game, those glorious feelings you got in the beginning are now replaced by feelings of frustration, because fragging other people now becomes the norm so its no longer accompanied by that "high" feeling of pwning some poor bastard, instead the slightest mistake you make frustrates the living shit out of you.
So I guess what I'm getting at is that somewhere a long the line I forgot that we game to have fun, there's way to much competitiveness in online games these days, my competitive personality is getting an overdose, I mean its not like I want to be a pro gamer, so why go through these motions?
Maybe its just a phase, but I decided I'm sticking to story driven single player type games for the foreseeable future, anyone else every went through something like this before?
