Headphone Suggestions & Recommendations

Here is the Pulse
and then the gold
BeoTeK I think I know what my next purchase is going to be :D

I like the look of the gold but for the price, might as well just go for the 7.1 sound...

I'm pretty sure it should be fine yes, console has a wide range for different sounds including music so I can't imagine it being worse than a good set of headphone specifically made for music. Or you could get some Beats? :P

Would that be good for music on my iPhone even if it is a console gaming set ?

I use them with my phone when flying, and I can't even hear the planes engines (droning). They also work with the wireless dongle in my PC as well. Only problem is they don't function as a headset with the phone, only earphones. And when connected to PC they don't offer the 7.1 surround as this is driven via software on the PS4, but still functions as a headset. And they fold up nicely as well.

I would recommend them over the Pulse simply due to the design flaw of the Pulse's earpieces cracking over time.

BeoTeK that is handy info to have. I kinda like the look of the Gold better and 7.1 virtual surround on the PS4 is fine.
I don't need more than stereo for the TV anyway so this is shaping up to being the pick for me.

How is the internal mic though ?

I've had no one complain of me being "far away" or sounding like I'm sitting on the shitter. And does a great job of not letting you hear yourself as well.

Maybe I might even sell mine

Thanks, I also have a friend looking for a gaming set, he is currently looking at the hyperx cloud 2. He will only use those for gaming on his PC. Do you recommend these for him too?

Based on the need to have the ps4 app to get the 7.1 virtual sound, maybe not. Unless he only wants stereo sound?

But for PC side I would rather look at something aimed for the PC market, maybe look at the CoolerMaster Sirius ? I love my set to bits. But it is wired sadly :(

I prefer wired to be honest. Will let him look for something more geared to PC and I'll look into the Sony sets

The Sennheisers are really really good, a bit more expensive but great quality and sound.

Razer is also good but still a little on the higher end of what I want to pay at this point for something that I do use often but not quite that much.

The CoolerMaster Sirius set was a great find for me personally as I have a large noggin and with my specs on just about everything gets uncomfy after 20mins. This set has lasted 2 years now, no issues, no breaks, no quality issue regarding sound at all.

BeoTeK why would you sell it now?!?!
Well when I bought them, it was for the purpose of TLoU and to get the best experience while I played that. Sadly though, I'm too worried about not hearing my son if he wakes or something during the night while using them.

Sounds silly I know.

I've also been eyeing the Gold since it's release and have heard nothing but good things. Keep hoping for a bit of a price drop but it seems I'll be waiting a while.

Not silly at all dude, I'm looking for a set for that exact reason :D If you decide to sell, give me a headsup first ?

Hi guys,
I decided to wait and save a bit for some good headphones but now my loyal Roccat Kaves decided to pack up on me. I've decided I want to look around for some all rounder headphones.

Something I can game with but also watch movies and listen to music with.

So far I'm looking at the Audio Technica 50x's. Is there anything you guys recommend up to R3000? Will buy a separate standalone mic.

Can't go wrong with AT. I have a pair of M30x's and I'm still astounded by their quality.
