Seems to be no end to the amount of good available sets. Would the M30x be classified as good as well? Also looked at reviews of the Superlux hd668b and they seem to be cheap enough to get, just to see how they are. Any experience with them?

Can you also settle an argument I had with a colleague. He bought a set of Parrot Ziks and he is adamant that it is the best headset for that price bracket. Im of the opinion that you can get way better sets for the price of the Ziks.

If you read a bit further up in the thread, you'll see I recently got a pair of M30x's from Amazon. They sound incredible and their build quality is superb. If you can find them for around $60 you HAVE to buy them. Normal price is around $120 IIRC.

I saw you are quite happy with them just thought maybe joker could shed some light on a m30x vs 50x and if it is worth the money to go the more higher end route. I see some people say save your money and get the M40x rather than the 50x. I see you can get the m30x from soundselect.co.za for r1190 which is a lot more expensive than 60$ and amazon wants $70. I dont think the small saving of importing would be worth it? But are they worth R1190 is the question.

Your friend has to be adamant to protect his investment, looking at that product (http://www.engadget.com/products/parrot/zik/) I would also have to defend a product purely on the price tag and functionality, but to be honest a company not willing to share spec data has me worried, I searched and couldnt find a specs sheets within the first 4 articles, which also has me not interested.

If you compare the Highend's like we have they always willing to share their spec's sheets as they are exact and not thumb suck.

Now looking at the specs sheet we can evaluate the Superlux hd668b is a better headset, however we have to bare in mind that we can only hear certain frequencies, higher the db's doesnt mean you can listen to it at full's db's without causing serious hearing loss or ear damage, we also need to take into account what will be driving these headphones, as a motherboards impedance is about 32 ohms.

Things you need to take into account is price, comfort (In the size of the Voice coil, the headband type,cable management) Build quality (ATH-M50x I have dropped lots nothing broken over a year now), Audio quality based on reviews. That's the best way to go about it, later on you look for an amp that can run them for that extra finish in audio quality.

If you look at the lower impendance of the M30x, it means it can be powered by "lower" devices without amplifiers. Trust me, the M30x's will be just fine for the not-quite audiophile like myself. They will be a hell of a lot better than most junk you'll find in local stores, that's for sure. They are classified as studio monitor headphones, so you can expect good things from them.
 
I use my Razer Krakens, and I LOVE them! great sound quality, and very comfortable!
 
@FarligOpptreden how did you get Amazon to ship to you as they do not want to ship the product to ZA? Finally made up my mind and now this. Not nice.

You have to look around a bit. Not all the products are sold by Amazon, but all are honoured and shipped by Amazon. I managed to find one that ships to ZA. Not at home atm, so can't really check right now...

Usually, items that are fulfilled and sold by Amazon.com will ship here. Items fulfilled by Amazon but sold by third parties will not. You can see this when viewing the product.

R1 190 is still a great price for the M30Xs as they are an amazing pair of cans that can be driven by pretty much any device.
 
That is what my understanding was from past experieces. But they are sold and shipped from Amazon. A pair of Sennheiser CX300's that I wanted to get for a friend says the same, sold and shipped by Amazon, and they are willing to ship those.

Unfortunately, not everything ships here. That's the pain of being in South Africa. Even though R1 190 is more than the $60 on Amazon, it's still a great price for the audio fidelity that you'll be receiving.

It's worth browsing around a bit to see which products ship to ZA, you might end up with a supplier that ships here. The noise cancelling earphones I bought my wife weren't sold directly by Amazon, but they shipped here just fine.
 
i decided not too get a gaming headset but rather i want too get a pair of headphones. does anyone know of any good ones where this bass,highs and lows are good i was thinking about the Beyerdynamic DT 990 or Beyerdynamic DT 880 Pro/premium

Are you looking for a flatter response or do you want the highs and lows to be boosted like in most music nowadays?

The DT 990, 880 and 770 all have a similar frequency response, however the 990s are a lot brighter than the other two. The 880 is probably the middle ground here, with it being so balanced across the various frequencies.

The 770 might seem a little darker, but I thoroughly enjoyed using them when I borrowed them from my old work.

What will you be using to power the headphones? Do you have an amp dedicated to your audio?
 
i do not have a AMP but if it makes a huge diffrence with and without i suppose i can look too get one im mainly going too use the headset for gaming such as CS GO,BF4 etc

Using headphones of that caliber will be a waste if you do not have an amp. The amp will bring them to life and allow them to perform optimally.

You can look at internal and external sound cards. What's your budget and I'll see what I can find.
