Cities Skylines

I have been reading some seriously good things about the game. So I am really keen to give it a go!

Is there a multiplayer element to the game?

Nope not yet, well at least not that I know of, would be a cool addition, being able to trade with other people cities etc.

Cities: Skylines mod lets you fly planes over your cities

The community around Cities: Skylines is developing some impressive additions to the city-building game from Colossal Order, with the latest mod, "Flight Cimulator," bringing pilotable planes into the world.

Created by a Netherlands-based player who goes by the moniker Ulysius, Flight Cimulator is billed as a "flight simulator inside a city builder." Players can press Ctrl + A to start flying, which spawns a jet airliner high above their city. The aircraft is controlled with the WASD keys and mouse. But as you can see in the video above from Bill Warlow on YouTube, there's a reason that Ulysius calls the mod a "cimulator" rather than a "simulator" — the planes don't exactly fly like real ones.

Ulysius says that planned future updates to Flight Cimulator include "better simulation" and engine sounds. Planes clip through buildings right now, but Ulysius also wants to implement proper collisions, which might not be the best idea — even with the clipping in the current version of the mod, Warlow notes in his video that he feels like he's "recreating atrocities."

Cities: Skylines is now available for $29.99 on Linux, Mac and Windows PC. For more, check out our Overview video below.

This is quite something

I am sorely tempted to get this, every post just make it appear more interesting. You people are the worst influence ever! :)

Go for it...seems like the devs are really engaging & continuing to support it very actively.

A nice change from the usual launch of a half-arsed product followed by 20 DLCs.

Started working on a CPT map last night and realized what a pain it is to keep it game friendly and realistic looking :(

So for some reason my save game didn't get transferred over after I formatted, I thought it would be in the cloud somewhere? Oh well I suppose my first city might have been a bit messy.

Now I know I can space things out a bit better

The game has the option of saving to cloud when saving, also be sure to check this option is enabled within Steam!

For some reason the default option is a local save in the game. Like Beotek says, you need to check cloud save.

Ah thanks, will change it before starting my next city.
