General gaming chit chat.

[MENTION=17]Eugene[/MENTION] I give this thread my seal of approval.

I'm quite chuffed that they're giving us all the Dirt 3 DLC. One good thing you can say about GFWL is that its impending demise has given us a couple of GOTY upgrades as devs have ported over to Steamworks (Batman games, now Dirt 3...)

I'm currently wishing for some time for gaming these days, been so busy with work and studies. I recently started playing Valkyria Chronicles and it's pretty cool so far although I am a bit surprised at how much the actual gameplay is spaced out between cutscenes and dialogue. But I'm not complaining too much as the Anime styled story and characters grow on you (despite the obvious cheesiness)
 
Just discovered origin allows you to play some of their games on a timer as a demo.

i.e. You get 40 hours of titanfall. or 150+ of BF4.

Pretty cool.

Gonna use this tonight to check if my lappy can run BF4

It should be able to. I was very disappointed in BF4 though. Didn't enjoy it at all.

Well...discovered Origin Game Time today...so will jam it for a dozen hours or so and then decide whether to go for the special.

Gotta hand it to EA...game time is not a bad idea.

Will probably check out titanfall as well...50 hours free.

50 hours is more than I get out of most FPS's these days anyway, incuding MP games. So free games! Yay!

I had this, and I think [MENTION=767]Wlad[/MENTION] to if I recall right. Decent pair and works nice. Also compatible with PS4/PC. I sold mine though cause it got a bit tight after 30 minutes or so. If you read about it online then some people complain about that, and others don't have the issue so it differs from player to player. Then there are reports about the ear cups connector parts cracking after a while. Easily fixed but I would have been pissed if it happened to mine.

Yeah, I'm still using my Pulse headset. Mine did crack all the way through at both cups, but I fixed it woth some Q-bond and its fine now. It's not ideal, but at least I can still use the headset. Sound quality is exceptional.
 
Random thought but I honestly can't see how Turtle rock thought Evolve would last. The only thing going for it is how pretty the game is thanx to the CryEngine but man is it boring as hell...lol I've played maybe 20min and I can't stand it...

I guess it proves they really needed Valve.
 
Have wondered this myself as well Joker as a gamers I can see when a game is just boring how can they not see it when they play test the game.

Yip pretty much this, they would have been better off working on L4D 3 or something.

The whole idea behind it is awesome, but this 4 player 1 monster thing just ruins it...it makes it incredibly boring.

If it were say 3 Monsters vs 12 players or 1 super monster against 12 players it would have been a hell of a lot more fun.
Or monsters vs monsters, that would have been awesome..

Then there is also the fact that the monsters feel so incredibly weak..lol You are this enormous fucking beast and it takes 17 000 hits to kill a human hunter...

Yeah the ideas are awesome and yet the exsecution is just bad. Also with gamers you get the useless/pro so you get this one side battles that is just not fun.

Worst part of coming back for holiday on a holiday is that all my friends are not online to play some games with me, I have been starving for some co-op gaming.
 
Reading the above about players vs monsters kinda reminds me of Giants Ciziten Kabuto. I really wouldnt mind a sequel right about now.

These guys are working on a spirtual succesor. I would probably back them once they move over to kickstarter
 
Got liquid damage on my brand new laptop. Keyboard is complete wrecked & speakers too.

I'll have to send it in for repair. Dreading that process...

Really bummed about it. :(

Awww, that sucks man! Was it a drink spill or what? Colleague emptied cup of coffee on his Envy 15 the other day. He turned it off immediately and I instructed him to turn it around to let it drain. He was lucky to have to damage to the machine.

Yeah pretty down about it....just lost my desktop a month back now this. Was busy eating & drinking with it balanced on my lap...stupid.

On the plus side the laptop seems fine aside from the messed up keyboard, so I'll send it to ASUS and hope they can replace the whole top part.

oh well lesson learned.
