Yeah Wyvern, it's great having a puppy again. Been 10 years since I've had a dog so it's nice to get into training again.
She is a good listener and follows me as I run around the garden so she's getting her exercise before I get a leash small enough and start walking her around the garden.
There doesn't seem to be any food aggression which is always good. Still going through potty training which isn't fun as I don't enjoy cleaning crap up off the floor every couple of hours.
Yea unfortunately toilet training is the hardest part of a puppy. But weirdly as much as I hate it, there is nothing like puppy breath or a puppy cuddling.
Super easy dog biscuits
No sugar is used in this recipe for bran muffins, and they’re great for sneaking in veggies and fibre. These muffins can be baked and frozen in plastic separately for easy retrieval as needed.
Ingredients
• 2 cups whole-wheat flour (you can use another type of flour if your dog is sensitive to wheat)
• 1 cup rolled oats
• 1/3 cup peanut butter, chunky or smooth
• 1 1/4 cups hot water
• Additional flour for rolling
Method
Preheat oven to 180°C. Mix dry ingredients together, then mix in the peanut butter and hot water. Add more flour if the dough is too sticky. Knead the dough well, then roll it out to 1cm thickness. Cut into shapes with cookie cutters or roll into balls and push flat with the tines of a fork.
Optional egg wash: To give the biscuits a golden glow once baked, whisk one egg and brush it over each biscuit.
Bake the biscuits on a lightly greased cookie sheet for 40 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool completely before serving or storing.
To store: Keep biscuits in a sealed container at room temperature for up to one week, or in the fridge for up to three weeks. Biscuits can be frozen for up to six months.
