The official Witcher 3 thread

I hope you're right.

Obviously I'll still buy the game and probably the expansion packs too. I'm looking forward to it :D
You and me both man. The wait is almost over. Now I just need to find R2000 before the release to pay for me CE [emoji14]

That CE has a hefty price tag on it. I'm not sure I can fork out that much for it unfortunately, but the standard retail versions always have good stuff with them too. The Witcher 2 CE was epic though.

Yeah, it's quite expensive but there is no way I can miss out. I will regret it forever of I don't buy it.

Actually, no one can say that they're hypocrites. This is from an early interview:

I agree, they made a distinction there. I just don't have faith that the loud-mouths of the Net are so understanding. If there is no backlash to this, then my faith in the reason of the vocal minority will be restored.

Sweet lord, the ending bit... :O

Uncompressed version.

"Breathtaking magic", cue Yennefer's bra disintegrating. CDP have a sense of humour. :D

What was up with 'even racism'? Just the way she said it... Yeah, that's like 80% of the books. The narration was strange, the gameplay was good though.

I really wanted to avoid watching that trailer but I could not resist. Fuck, the game looks amazing. The wait is getting shorter but also worse everyday.

Looks really awesome. I bought the Witcher 1 and 2. Must I play the Witcher 1? The graphics and mechanics really bother me, I don't like the engine used.

The story of Geralt does follow through if I'm not mistaken. But if you aren't interested then don't bother, jump straight to two.

Thanks, would I be completely lost not playing 1 or is it just some story I miss out on ?
You wouldn't miss that much, but a lot of characters from 1 are in 2 as well. You could always just watch a summary of the story on youtube. There is a very good summary video, I think it is posted somewhere in this thread.

Thanks, will probably watch the summery for 1 and play 2, it sounds like 2 is quite a good game. 1 is probably also but I can't get over the engine.

I haven't really had an interest in this until recently, now that I have a decent card to play it with. And I'm glad, looking at those. Sure I may not be able to play it at 4k, but 1080p and close to max (hopefully) should give it some justice :D

They've said that the 970 will be able to play it on High at 60FPS at 1080p. So you're all set ;)

Plus, didn't you get it for free anyway? They have a promotion where you get TW3 for free with most of the newest Nvidia cards.

That's a good question, maybe The Joker can clarify?
