What movie did you last watch thread.

I meant 'cool username'.

Saw Age of Ultron last night.

Positives: Action is really good; classic Marvel humor still works.

Negatives: Confusing story (the villain's motivation is never properly explained, and doesn't make sense either way; new characters shoe-horned in for no reason; pointless, contrived and forced love story; feels longer than it should have been.

6/10.

I have to disagree with you on that.

Its another Joss Whedon movie that just had me in tears from laughter, emotions still all over the show and I have SO many questions! The way people feel about the Star Wars Movie, is how I feel about the Avengers and all the Marvel movies. And even more so since Joss was so involved with this movie. Its not all about the action, which is why I love this man, he makes the characters more real and human in their achievements and failings. I cannot wait for the next one. As it is I will have to see this one again a few times.

Last seen: Avengers: Age of Ultron

...or rather the first 20 minutes of it. We went to see the 20:00 movie, which only started at 20:30 and by that time my wife was so tired and cranky that by 20:50 I told her we should just leave.

I'll probably have to wait for it to hit the torrent sites on a BR-Rip now, seeing as I already paid for 2 tickets I can justify the download. :p

Wasn't bad by any means (for a pretty cliché storyline), I quite enjoyed the lead actress, but I think I'm officially reaching an age where I don't enjoy high school-set comedies as much as I used to.

On what exactly?

Do you mean the score? I didn't hate it or anything, 6/10 is still above average, n'est-ce pas? :)

In my opinion, it's a fun, entertaining popcorn movie, but it's certainly not very cerebral or engaging on any level beyond "yeah, that is a cool thing that just happened".

One thing I will say is that they gave every hero some actual screen time and made the "lesser" heroes stand out more. Captain America, despite being probably the most boring character on paper, actually had the best fight scenes for me, what with all the shield shenanigans and his crazy flips and whatnot.

I think you nailed it there with saying that it is a fun, popcorn movie. In my opinion, that's what Marvel are going for, considering that they are catering for an audience consisting of $1B+ worth.

They've got many characters that they are trying to fit into 2.5 hours and each of them have to play a part. Basically, each of them shine in their individual movies and comics then get carried through the movie on a sense of familiarity. Those without solo titles get focused on more in these big team based movies. I'm okay with that, if you look at the MCU as one, coherent story.

Also, yeah Cap was bad ass. [emoji4]

Guys, what's the current price of 3D glasses at SK? I'm taking a bunch of people to go see Avengers at Imax this weekend and forgot to work the glasses into my budget. Oops

Oh, if you're watching Avengers, there isn't a "super post credits schwarma" scene. theres a mid-credits, thats it. us and the 3 other ppl still sitting in the theater felt rather like idiots :/

This happened to us too. I felt like an asshole when the poor cleaning lady had to work around us. :(

Also, I'm not sure the 3D is worth it in this movie, as nothing really stands out (haha, a pun) as a "this must be seen in 3D" moment, and it's sometimes hard to make out what's happening in action scenes with the grainy/dark 3D effect going on.

I guess it's subjective, but still.

I truly dislike 3D where it isn't necessary. But sadly, because it rakes in more cash, it will always be the first option to watch a movie. I don't want to wait 3 weeks before I can see a 2D movie, because I know it'll get spoiled before that.

On the other hand, 3D used appropriately in the right movies, I don't mind too much.
